Tonight’s work session is a presentation of the 2023 Main Street Downtown Corridor LOS Traffic Study.  As City Council is aware, major redevelopment has occurred in the City’s downtown area over the last eight years. Beef O Brady’s, the Hacienda Hotel, the Central, and the Social are a few examples of that redevelopment.   Because of the redevelopment, vehicle and pedestrian traffic along the Main Street corridor has increased considerably.  Several complaints have been brought to City Council and City administrative staff about the existing four way stop sign intersection at Main Street and Adams Street as well as the cycling of the traffic signals along the corridor. In an effort to identify the possible reduction in the corridor’s LOS and improve on the existing traffic signal synchronization, staff contracted with Florida Design Consultants to complete a LOS study and present those findings to City Council and Staff.
