REQUEST:
The request of staff for the CRA board of directors is to review and consider for approval the attached invoices from Duke Energy for an amount not to exceed $173,711.87 and Charter Spectrum in the amount not to exceed $56,380.65 for the underground conversion of their utility infrastructure.
DISCUSSION:
As City Council is aware, the Railroad Square area encompasses a block in the Downtown area on Nebraska Avenue between Grand Boulevard and Adams Street. Improvements to the block were approved by the CRA board of directors during the 22/23 Capital Improvement Plan budget process. During the design phase it was determined that the existing utilities needed to be converted from overhead to underground. The attached invoices for the utility conversions will need to be paid prior to the utility companies beginning with the construction.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the invoices is recommended.
