REQUEST:
The request of staff for the City Council consideration is to review and consider for approval, the attached proposal and sole source form submitted by ChemScan, Inc., in the amount not to exceed $44,536 for the purchase of one (1) water quality chemical analyzer. ChemScan, Inc. is the sole manufacturer of the equipment.
DISCUSSION:
The City’s Water Production Supervisor Greg Wikholm is recommending approval of the proposal to replace the existing analyzer at the City Water Treatment Plant (WTP.) As Mr. Wikholm states in the attached memorandum, the WTP’s existing analyzer is a critical component in the water quality and disinfection process of the WTP. The existing analyzation system at the plant has been in place since 2009 and is the same brand as the request being submitted to City Council because of the equipment’s reliability and performance.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the purchase is recommended.

Project funding is included in the WTP’s budget account No. 401105-46341. | | | |
