REQUEST:
This agenda item is being presented at the request of Director Altman and is for the CRA Board of Directors to conduct a discussion regarding miscellaneous properties within the city.
DISCUSSION:
As the Board is aware, there has been several discussions over the past year regarding the the former-Finnish American Club building located at 6016 Delaware Avenue which is currently owned by the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Holiday. The Church listed the property for sale earlier this year and it was under contract by Youth and Family Alternatives in the amount of $360,000 however that deal fell through as the proposed use of the property that Youth and Family Alternatives was requesting was not permitted under the current zoning regulations. The property has since been relisted for sale. There has been some interest in the property including a proposal from the Richey Suncoast Orchestra. The discussion by the Board related to this property would be what the Board would envision the use of the property should it be acquired by the CRA. Staff would also urge the Board to discuss any other property within the city that may also be of interest to them.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff requests that the CRA Board of Directors conduct the discussion regarding miscellaneous properties within the city as requested and direct staff as to the appropriate course of action.
BUDGET / FISCAL IMPACT:
