REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to award ITB 23-016 Activity Pool Resurfacing, to Aumiller Pools, LLC in an amount not to exceed $177,500. This amount includes an owner’s contingence of $30,000. In addition, staff would request City Council approve the attached budget amendment in the amount not to exceed $77,500.
DISCUSSION:
The scope of this project is to resurface the Activity Pool at the Recreation and Aquatics Center. The pool surface has become coarse over time and is conducive to black algae and a number of items need repair to remain code compliant.
On February 1, 2023, ITB No. 2023-016 Activity Pool Resurfacing Bid was advertised and a bid opening was held on March 3, 2023. The City received proposals from two contractors: Electro-Mechanic Industries dba Vermana of Orlando Florida with a bid amount of $222,550 and Aumiller Pools LLC of Winter Park with a bid of $147,500.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the award for ITB 23-016 Activity Pool Resurfacing to Aumiller Pools, LLC in the amount not to exceed $177,500 and the attached budget amendment in the amount of $77,500.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
The funding to support this project has been budgeted in the City's FY 2022-23 CIP with additional funding of $77,500.00 from American Rescue Plan Act funds. | | | |
