REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve Change Order #2 in respect to the Sims Park Improvement. The change order is deductive in the amount of $244,395.10.
DISCUSSION:
As you already know, in order to take advantage of the City's tax exempt status the city is purchasing some of the materials associated with the Sims Park Improvement Project directly rather than through our construction manager. In the case of this change order the city is purchasing $225,019.42 in materials, the result of which is a tax savings in the amount of $19,375.68. Therefore, the contract with Hennessey needs to be amended to reflect the above referenced change.
Incidentally, the following items are included in this change order: play structure, park benches, kayak launch , drinking fountains and bollards.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation is to approve the deductive change order with Hennessey Construction Services in the amount of $ 244,395.10.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
The change order is deductive in nature and represents a savings to the city. | | | |
