REQUEST:
I respectfully request Council authorize the purchase of the following vehicles:
· One (1) 2016 Ford T-250 Transit Cargo Van from Port Richey Ford at a cost of $21,746.48;
· Four (4) 2016 Ford Sedan Police Explorer Interceptor SUVs from Port Richey Ford at a cost of $99,104;
· One (1) 2016 Ford F-150 X Cab Standard Bed Pick-Up Truck from Port Richey Ford at a cost of $19,409; and
· One (1) 2016 Chevy Tahoe SUV from Alan Jay Fleet Sales at a cost of $34,345.
DISCUSSION:
In the 2015-2016 F/Y Budget, Council allocated funds to purchase the above listed vehicles. The prices for the Ford T-250 transit cargo van, the Ford police explorer interceptor SUVs and the Ford F-150 pick-up truck were obtained through state contract price listings and quote comparisons. Ford of Port Richey – 10715 U.S. 19, Port Richey, Florida 34668 provided below state contract prices for each of these vehicles.
The quote for the Chevy Tahoe SUV was obtained through The Florida Sheriff’s Association and the Florida Association of Counties Bid Award # 14-22-0904. The vendor is Alan Jay Fleet Sales – 2003 U.S. 27 South, Sebring, Florida 33871-9200.
I am asking Council to authorize the purchase of these vehicles at a total cost of $174,604.48.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend authorizing the purchase of one Ford T-250 Transit Cargo Van, four Ford Police Explorer Interceptor SUVs and one Ford F-150 Pick-up Truck from Ford of Port Richey at a cost of $140,259.48. I further recommend authorizing the purchase of one Chevy Tahoe SUV from Alan Jay Fleet Sales at a cost of $34,345. The total cost for all of the vehicles is $174,604.48.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
These vehicles will be purchased using Penney for Pasco dollars; therefore, there will not be a direct fiscal impact to the police department budget. | | | |
