REQUEST:
I respectfully request Council approve this request for the purchase and installation of a K-9 vehicle heat alarm system from Radiotronics Inc. for a total cost of $2,477.75.
DISCUSSION:
For the safety of our K-9, it is necessary to equip the Tahoe SUV assigned to his handler with a heat safety system to prevent injury to the K-9 due to overheating. The system includes a heat alarm, cooling fan, door popper, and remote control.
This AceK9 equipment will be purchase from Radiotronics, Inc., 1315 SW Commerce Way, Stuart, Florida 34997-7231. Radiotronics is a sole source dealer for AceK9.com products.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend the purchase and installation of a vehicle heat alarm system from Radiotronics Inc. for a total cost of $2,477.75.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
This system will be purchased using Penny for Pasco II dollars; therefore, there will not be a direct fiscal impact to the police department budget. | | | |
