REQUEST:
The action requested of City Council is to review and consider the approval of the two proposals. One from Ford of Port Richey in the amount not to exceed one hundred two thousand eight hundred thirty-six dollars and zero cents ($102,836.00) for the purchase of two (2) F550 Ford Trucks with attached Service Utility Bodies. Pricing is in accordance with the Florida Sheriffs Association & Florida Association of Counties Contract 14-12-0904. The second attached proposal is in the amount not to exceed one thousand five hundred thirteen dollars and four cents ($1,513.04) from the City's Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for the purchase and installation of miscellaneous hardware to outfit the vehicles.
DISCUSSION:
These two (2) types of utility service trucks are replacing existing utility service trucks that are 11 and 12 years old and have served their useful life. This equipment is used by the Water Distribution Division's maintenance staff to respond to daily maintenance activities and emergency repairs throughout the City's water service area. This equipment and body style are the same as specified for all utility service vehicles in our fleet and are consistent with industry standards for this type of work activity.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the do not exceed proposal from Ford of Port Richey and the purchase of miscellaneous hardware to outfit the vehicles is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
These two (2) pieces of equipment are identified in the City's 2015-2016 Capital Equipment/Improvement Plan in the Water and Reclaimed Water Distribution Division. Funding for the vehicles and hardware are available in the Division's line item account No. 401-0107-533-64-15.
