RE:Professional Service Agreement - Professional Engineering Services 2016

REQUEST:

City Council is asked to authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with The Ash Group to provide professional engineering services for the City.

 



DISCUSSION:

The City solicited proposal packages from firms to provide a professional engineering services for the City, as part of a request for qualifications.  Four firms submitted qualifications by the deadline, including one from The Ash Group.   The Ash Group was established in 1993 as a multi-disciplined engineering firm with headquarters in Tampa.

 

The agreement designates The Ash Group as the City Engineer.  Services provided include consulting, studies and reports, project design, general services during construction, inspection and supplementary services and special projects.   Mr. Rich Piccininni, will serve as the designated City Engineer from the firm.  Both he and Janice Ash (company president and owner) will be in attendance at the City Council meeting.

 

 

Section 3.02.02 of the Land Development Code provides for the creation of the office of the City Engineer by City Council appointment for a one-year term.  This proposed contract will run for a full year through September 2015. 

 

 

 



RECOMMENDATION:

Authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the consultant. The contract will be provided under a separate email.



BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:

The impact to the budget is for a total of $41,000 including $35,000 for Development and $6,000 for Public Works.  This amount has been budgeted in the FY15/16 budget for each department.
