The City’s Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of roadways owned by the City of New Port Richey. The application of roadway markings or striping is a part of the maintenance activities. The City’s current maintenance program calls for striping of roadways every five to seven years. As Council is aware, Grand Blvd. extends from the southern City limits at Cecelia Drive to the northern City limits located at Manatee Point Road and is the maintenance responsibility of the City. Subsequent to staff review, it has been determined that Grand Blvd. meets the guidelines set for roadway marking maintenance and upgrades.
This proposed project will grind existing markings where needed, remove and replace existing raise pavement markers, and upgrade markings where needed in accordance with the current FDOT Florida Design Standards. The City's Construction Management Division has reviewed line item totals and verified references supplied by the contractor.
