REQUEST:
The request of staff of City Council is to consider for approval the attached Resolution vacating a portion of public right-of-way known as Grand Boulevard between Sims Lane and Circle Boulevard; legal description, a tract of land being a portion of Enchantment Park, Block C, "Port Richey Company Revised Plan for Town of New Port Richey", according to the map or plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 4, Page 49, of the public records of Pasco County, Florida, lying in Section 5, Township 26 South, Range 16 East, Pasco County, Florida.
DISCUSSION:
As Council is aware, subsequent to the review of Sims Park Improvements Project design, Council approved the removal of a portion of Grand Boulevard between Sims Lane and Circle Boulevard. The purpose of this direction was to create a continuous green space from the existing Sims Park northeastern boundaries to the existing City Orange Lake area. The Park’s existing restrooms and playground where demolished, reconstructed, and a splash pad constructed in the newly created “green space”.
A component of the project close out process is the vacation or release of the right-of way area that was used to construct the facilities. The City’s Development Review Committee has reviewed the matter and has recommended approval of the request to vacate the right-of-way area described in the attached Resolution
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the resolution is recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no budget/fiscal impact.
